Meg's Song

Overview

Meg's Song is a two-row, spring, hulless, waxy food barley that yields well and is broadly adapted across all rainfall zones of eastern Washington State.  This variety also does well in dryland production systems. Meg's Song is unique due to it's increased proten content and B-glucan content, as well as its flour and bread color and other novel end-use quality parameters.   Meg's Song is intended to replace Meresse and Clearwater across all rainfall zones. Meg's Song is similar in height to Havener and Meresse, and has a heading date close to Havener. Meg's Song has excellent standabliity and is moderately susceptible to stripe-rust.
